Torre Prima is an Agriturismo in San Gimignano and a family-run business; the main activities carried out concern the olive harvest and the grape harvest. In the early seventies, the Pollina family purchased the farmhouse in San Gimignano and began to take its first tiring steps in the area: these were very difficult years, in which the countryside was mostly abandoned to go in search of a more comfortable life in city. However, the Pollinas do not give up and decide to follow this path to the end, convinced that the land can continue to offer them only the best of its products.

Currently the production of oil and wine is an important part of the company's activities: there are things to which Tuscany is deeply linked and one of these is certainly extra virgin olive oil, a truly precious commodity to which many work hours. Our wine and oil tastings will allow you to taste what is most important in Tuscan food and wine culture.

To produce an excellent oil a long process is necessary which requires passion, commitment, sacrifice, as well as an effective technique. We must always keep in mind the complexity of the entire production cycle of the plant and the olive; the quality of the oil does not only depend on the type of pressing and extraction, two very important phases, but also on all the work of caring for the plant in the most delicate periods of the year.

The extra virgin oil from the Torre Prima farmhouse and farm in San Gimignano is made with four different varieties of olives and is certainly one of the best in Tuscany; its taste goes very well with the typical bruschetta and with other typical dishes of the region that you can taste by choosing to spend a stay in Chianti.
